Selling Questions
How do I sell my watch?
Create a free account. After setting up your profile, you can begin to sell your watch.
What are the different formats available for selling my watch?
There are two different available formats for selling your watch. The first option is a secondary auction format, where the starting price is your reserve price, which is the minimum amount you will accept for your watch. The second option is the buy now sales format, where you set a fixed price for your watch. Additionally, to maintain buyer engagement, a make an offer feature is available with either option.
How does a Make an Offer work?
The Make an Offer feature is available for both Auction and Buy Now sales formats. It engages buyers while minimizing "low-ball" offers.
The Make an Offer feature includes minimum offer thresholds. In the auction sales format, if there is a current bid, the minimum offer threshold is 5% above the current price. If there is no bid, the minimum offer threshold is 75% of the starting price. For example, if the starting price is $2,000, the minimum offer threshold is $1,500.
In a Buy Now Sales format, the minimum offer must be 75% of the Buy Now price. For instance, if the price is $5,000, the minimum offer is $3,750.
The system will automatically decline any offer that does not reach the specified minimum threshold amount.
What is the cost to list and sell my watch?
For the watch dealer, the cost is 2% or a maximum of $250 of the final sale amount. For private individuals, there are no listing or selling fees, and they can list and sell as many watches as desired at no cost. Watch2Wear reserves the right to change its listing and selling policy at any time without notice.
How is selling my watch on Watch2Wear different from selling my watch on a watch forum?
For private individuals, selling a watch on Watch2Wear's online marketplace is similar to selling a watch on a watch forum. There are no differences, and it is free of charge.
What is the "Bump" listing option?
The "Bump" option will randomly place your watch listing ad to the top of a search results page. The cost to "Bump" your listing is $10 a month.
How does the "Bump" listing option work?
The "Bump" listing is based on the buyer's search parameters. For example, if a user searches for a Dive watch with a case size of 36mm to 39mm and your watch listing is a Dive watch with a 38mm case, your watch listing will be displayed at the top of the page. The "Bump" placement listing could be also as generic as brand and or model. With this instance, if a user searches for an Omega, and your watch listing is an Omega Seamaster or Speedmaster, your watch listing will be displayed at the top of the page.
What is the "Featured" listing option?
The "Featured" listing option will randomly place your watch listing on Watch2Wear's Home Page. This option will ensure maximum exposure. The cost is a one-time fee of $25 until the watch sells.
